Families and Children

Family service

church clip art 1Our Family Service is generally held on the Second Sunday of the month at 10.30am at St James Church. It’s an informal service –   for all ages, lasting about 45 minutes. There is much to do and explore for children of all ages, and their parents, grandparents and supporters. We have a story from the Bible, and activities for the children and grown-ups together.  Our Music Group leads us in our singing of modern worship songs and more traditional hymns. Refreshments – coffee and pastries – are served both before and after the service.  Please come to find out more.

Open the Book is an exciting way of bringing the Bible alive for a new generation of listeners. A team from St James’ Church in Elstead joins with other Christians from the village to tell and enact a Bible story each week in the Primary school’s assembly. The children love it – and we enjoy ourselves quite a bit too!

We are always on the lookout for new members to join our team. You don’t have to have been to RADA to qualify! If you’re interested, please get in touch with Deirdre via the Church Office.

Open the Book takes place in School during term-time on Thursdays at 9.00am for 9.30am performance.

At the moment, due to Coronavirus we are unable to go to the school for OTB. We hope to restart this asap.
